
This is a four-axle Zaens series tank wagon with a volume of 40 m3. The wagon is designed for the transportation of dangerous substances – 2 448 MOLTEN SULPHUR according to the RID regulation. No other substances than the above-mentioned molten sulphur may be loaded in the tank under paragraph 4.3.4.1.3 of the RID regulation. The wagon must not be used in a multipurpose manner for other substances, groups of substances and for the hierarchy of tanks according to paragraph 4.3.4.1.2.
Wagon chassis – a welded central member with platform ends where the tank is bolted onto the saddles.
A KNORR-SfS (KE-GP) pneumatic brake with a mechanical distributor. The handbrake is a parking spindle brake. The handbrake is operated from the platform located at one end of the wagon and acts on both bogies at the same time.
The tank is welded from two arched bottoms and several shells and is symmetrically kinked in the centre on its longitudinal axis with an incline of 1°. A steam heating system used to heat the transported substance for easier unloading is mounted to the bottom part of the tank. To ensure stable temperature the tank is insulated with rock wool throughout.
The wagon complies with valid TSI, GCU and UIC regulations.
