New types of railway cars manufacturing
Majority of new investments, e.g. blasting stations, varnishing boxes, power brakes, oxy-cutting machines, welding aggregates etc., are designated for the railway cars production. In the human resources area the design department is the one that is reinforced the most, because it allows the fastest and most professional reaction to the customers’ requirements.

Production program
The railway car repair shops privatization in the Czech Republic was accelerated by dramatic transportation reduction in the then federation, therefore by drastic reduction of repairs in such companies. New owners were supposed to take care of the companies and of the employees and according to their abilities, ensure the company success or failure. It was necessary to find a new substitute program very soon. The decisive topics during the time period of looking for a new program for LEGIOS a.s. as a producer of railway cars were: freight cars knowledge, welded structures knowledge (turning platforms and transverse tables) and available technologic equipment. The first orders were for production of parts of the vehicles, in particular of nose compartments, side-sills and frames.
Therefore, all the employees could absorb ever new knowledge gradually, in particular western experience, standards and requirements on designs. As a preparatory stage for introduction of own final products, this time period was irreplaceable. At the present time the Company profile has been completed and, in particular, it offers two activities: new railway cars production, freight cars especially and repairs and inspections of railway vehicles, again mainly of freight wagons.

The LEGIOS a.s. Company, previously referred to as LOSTR, is an European manufacturer of railway wagons located in Louny, Czech Republic. Its works are located in Louny, Czech Republic, and on Ontario Street and Horní Slavkov, Czech Republic. The LEGIOS a.s. Company produces mainly locomotives, freight cars and it specializes in railway cars and locomotives modernization and repairs.
