Container wagon type Sggrss 80´
This six-axle articulated wagon is designed for the transportation of bulk cargo containers with lengths of 20', 30' and 40' and heights of 8' and 8' 6" according to the UIC 592-1 and 2 declaration.
There is a cross-over piece at the centre of the wagon over the articulation joint. With regard to ferry access the wagon complies with UIC regulations and may negotiate an angle of elevation of up to 1°30´ to access a ferry at a minimal curve radius of 120 m. In every loaded condition it is able to negotiate a rail siding with a minimum curve radius of 75 m and when empty, it is able to pass over a shunting slope with a profi le stipulated according to the UIC 522 declaration. The wagon is suitable for a maximum speed of 120 km/h and may be operated with a maximum axle load of 22.5 t. The maximum axle load under the S and SS operating conditions is governed by the conditions of the individual railway networks on which the wagon is operated.
Chassis
The wagon complies with the strength conditions according to EN 12 663, UIC 577, ERRI B12/RP 17. The chassis consists of two welded steel structures, each made up of two external load-bearing longitudinal members that are connected to the load-bearing frame using crossbars.
The connection of both parts of the wagon consists of Talbottype articulation and side bearers. The plates and rolled and/or formed profi les used are steel with a guaranteed strength of 355 MPa for the main beams, while other parts are steel with a guaranteed strength of 235 MPa.
The wagon is equipped with locating pins (spigots) for containers that serve for the mounting of different sizes of containers and swap bodies on the wagon. According to the UIC 530-1 declaration the wagon is ready for the installation of an automatic coupler.
All construction parts that overlap the loading area are hinged or swinging.
